Steel strips used to close out fabric edges of sofas and chairs. Sharp, punched out "tacks" are pushed through the material from the "B-Side Wrong Side" of the material next to the finished edge surface. The strip is turned 180 degrees, displaying the finished edge, then the strip is hammered into position using a soft mallet.
